The City Government of Isabela, led by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, conducted a rescue operation for street children in the city on November 17. The initiative, carried out by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) under the guidance of OIC Nor-Aina Asmara, Focal on Children Jean Mariano, and CSWDO staff, aimed to address the welfare of street children.
A total of 69 individuals, comprising 50 children, 13 women, and 6 senior citizens, were rescued. The rescued individuals were taken to the City Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office Lounge for interviews and an intake process. The children were subsequently properly turned over to their families.
This activity, conducted in collaboration with the Isabela City Police Station led by COP PLTCOL Parson Asadil, along with officers PSSG Lizel Ibañez, PCPL Fatimah Salisa, and Social Work Interns, also involved the presence of IPMR Mary May Julhari and Barangay Kagawads from Barangays Tampalan, Diki, Carbon, and Kaumpurnah Zone I.
