The City Government of Isabela de Basilan under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman through the Isabela City Youth Development Alliance actively joined an empowering 2-day Local Labor Market Assessment (LLMA) attended by both Youth Development Alliance (YDA) members and OSY participants of Isabela City, November 7 to 8 at Isawad Conference Hall, this city. This workshop was organized and funded by EDC- USAID under its Opportunity 2.0 program.
The LLMA aims at understanding the city’s local market on wage employment and self-employment, constraints affecting the ability of our youth to enter the labor market and ways for overcoming these constraints. It also aims to promote the active participation of stakeholders and end-users not only in identifying emerging demand but also in coming up with appropriate interventions to address the local needs. Furthermore, this collaborative activity will also clearly define local priorities in terms of actions that the Youth Development Alliance can take to further the common goal of securing economic opportunities for youth.
