In celebration of the first ever Isabela de Basilan Coffee Month, the City Government of Isabela organized a Coffee Tree Growing Activity in Barangay Panunsulan, October 19. The event was led by Mayor Turabin-Hataman and was conducted in collaboration with the Philippine Coffee Board Inc. headed by chair Chit Juan and Sulu Royal Coffee founder Kumala Evardo.
During the event, the seeds used for planting were provided by the City Agriculture Office. Notably, Isabela City Coffee Growers Association President Lee Roy Brown, contributed 100 coffee seedlings, while Vice President Victor Moore Ututalum provided a substantial 1,500 seedlings.
The event witnessed active participation from a diverse array of groups and individuals, including the HAPIsabela Basilan Eagles Club, the 19th Special Forces Company and 4th Special Forces Battalion of the Philippine Army, the 54th SAC PNP-SAF, Tau Gamma Phi, Alex Ututalum, Councilors Alha-Zim Akbar and Annjaiza Sakkalahul.
