The Gender and Development Unit of the City Government of Isabela led by City Information Officer and concurrent GAD Focal Mendry-Ann Lim conducted a 2-day capacity development training on gender analysis and GERL Tool for GAD Focal Persons of all implementing city departments and offices, October 11-12.

WMSU professor Dr. Rosalyn Eschem, an accredited GAD expert of Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) served as the facilitator of the said training, which aims to provide the various department heads and GAD focal persons the necessary skills set for the effective and efficient implementation of GAD programs of the city. Topics included were gender analysis tools such as the HGDG, GMEF; revisit and evaluation of GAD programs using the GERL Tool; and the identification and translation of the results of the evaluation into GAD PPAs for inclusion in the long-term GAD agenda.

Under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, numerous city flagship programs are funded under the GAD budget, which include the mobile clinic and telehealth services, Islamic microfinance and livelihood asssistance program, GAD livelihood skills trainings, and many more. The current administration, in line with its priority agenda on the care for the vulnerable members of the society, ensures that all of its programs and services are gender-responsive catering to the needs of all of its constituents.
