Basilan (IX) which only includes Isabela City (currently the 53rd Most Competitive Component City out of 114 cities in the Philippines) remained at the Top 10 of the Most Competitive Provinces in the entire Philippines for two years in a row (6th Most Competitive in 2022). A total of 82 provinces were ranked by CMCI in 2023. Basilan (BARMM) is currently ranked 77th nationwide.

Isabela City (BAS) was also in the Top 10 Most Improved Component Cities for two years in a row 2021 and 2022, and was the Most Competitive Component City in Region IX Zamboanga Peninsula in 2022.
Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte which is currently the 51st ranked component city nationwide, edged Isabela City, Basilan to be the top Most Competitive Component City in the region in 2023. Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur is at 58th place while Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte is ranked 109th.
