On September 18, the Census Coordinating Board of Isabela City chaired by Mayor Sitti Djalia Tutabin-Hataman convened to discuss the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries (CAF). The meeting was presided over by the Philippine Statistics Authority-Basilan.
PSA – Basilan CAF Provincial Alternate Focal Person, Statistical Specialist Pedro Baraji Jr., presented the key points of the 2022 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries. He also provided information about the target respondents for the census, which will be conducted from September 4 to October 25. The target respondents include sample households, barangays, and non-household entities. During the reference period, all households with operators and non-households engaged in agricultural, aquaculture, and fishing operations from January 01 to December 31, 2022, will be enumerated for the 2022 CAF.
The data to be collected for both households and non-household entities include information related to the growing of crops, livestock and poultry, aquaculture, fishing, while in barangays are major agricultural/fishery commodities, facilities/machineries/equipment for agriculture and fisheries, input dealers, service providers, as well as any natural calamities experienced in the past five years.
Meanwhile, PSA – Basilan Senior Statistical Specialist Edenizer Santender explained the role of the Census Coordinating Boards and provided a list of sample barangays, including Aguada, Balatanay, Baluno, Begang, Binuangan, Cabunbata, Calvario, Carbon, Diki, Eastside, Kaumpurnah Zone I, Kaumpurnah Zone III, Kumalarang, Lampinigan, Lukbuton, Makiri, Maligue, Marang-Marang, Masola, Panigayan, Panunsulan, Port Area, Riverside, Sumagdang, Sunrise, Tabiawan, Tabuk, and Tampalan.
