Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman presided the swearing-in ceremony, September 6, for the newly appointed officers of the Isabela City People’s Council.
During the meeting, Mayor Turabin-Hataman emphasized the importance of delivering programs that are easily understood by the people. She proposed the idea of organizing a “good governance caravan” or an “information revolution” centered around the theme of good governance. This initiative would include lectures on various topics such as the environment, women’s economic empowerment, and opportunities for all.
The council is ready to function as a medium for ongoing discussions, addressing challenges, and propelling initiatives grounded in community input, as well as advocating for inclusive and participatory governance, emphasizing the significance of the collaboration between governmental bodies and civil society.
