Under the leadership of City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, the City Government of Isabela through the IsaTV Production Division of the City Information Office, organized its first campus tour, September 6, at Claret College of Isabela.
CIO Mendry-Ann Lim expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the faculty members and students of CCI for their warm welcome. She explained that the series of campus tours will help promote the 33 ISA TV shows which showcase and provide awareness on the various programs and services of LGU-Isabela City. This was followed by an energizing Zumba Dance that captivated the students’ attention.
The HAPIsabela Mobile Library was also brought to the campus tour, offering a variety of books that delighted the students during the reading session.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman personally graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring message to the students of CCI. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of reading books, highlighting that books can transport you to different places. She concluded her message by saying, “I hope you all have dreams, and as you dream for yourselves and plan for your future, always include Isabela City in your aspirations.”
The event featured an entertaining intermission number by Jayvee Cabcaban, the winner of “Iba ka, Isabela! Got Talent,” leaving the students in awe of his talent.
Furthermore, Basilan District 1 Board Member Ahmed Ibn Djaliv Hataman made an appearance to show support for the city’s first campus tour. In his message, he recalled that ISA TV actually began with TELEdukasyon – an initiative to provide learners with video learning materials to supplement modularized learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, support, and love from the crowd. He also thanked the people behind the event.
The day was filled with a variety of activities, including a talent show where students showcased their skills, the Barangay nAMIN Show’s Pinoy Henyo for both students and teachers, and other traditional Filipino games.
Among those who attended were Claret College of Isabela BED/SHS Principal Arnie A. Calago, College of Education Dean Daisideria Oliveria, and other faculty members. (Words by KJ Lim/Photos by KJ Evardo, CIO)
