In fulfillment of its priority agenda on providing “care for vulnerable members of the society,” the City Government of Isabela under the inclusive leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman held on July 26 at Barangay Menzi Multipurpose Covered Court the city’s first PWD Summit.
As part of the City Government’s observance of the 45th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with the theme “Persons with Disabilities Accessibility and Rights: Towards a Sustainable Future where No One is Left Behind”, the activity aimed to gather PWD constituents in one venue to provide them with different government services and entertainment.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman together with Vice Mayor Jhul Kifli Salliman and DOLE-Isabela City Field Office led by Senior LEO Marlyn Anoos distributed livelihood starter toolkits to selected PWD beneficiaries.
Organized by the City Persons with Disability Affairs Office headed by CPDAO Gemma Paculio and the City Social Welfare and Development Office directed by OIC Nor-Aina Asmara, this event was also graced by partners from various agencies and organizations such as DOLE-Isabela City FO, MBHTE-TESD, the SPED faculty of Isabela East Central Elementary School and 54th Special Action Company, PNP-SAF.
