Bayi Inc. Board Member and former Dean of the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Women and Development Studies (CSWD) Dr. Sylvia Estrada-Claudio, paid a courtesy call, July 10, to Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman at Isabela City Hall to express sincere gratitude and present a token of appreciation on behalf of Bayi Inc. for the exceptionally warm welcome extended by the city government.
The author of numerous publications and a known advocate for reproductive health, Dr. Estrada-Claudio is a professor at CSWCD’s Department of Women and Development Studies, and was also the former Director of the University Center for Women’s Studies. She co-founded Likhaan Women’s Center Inc., a non-governmental organization providing health education and training, community organizing and reproductive health services to urban poor women. It is based in Project 8, Quezon City.
During the meeting, Dr. Estrada-Claudio was accompanied by Councilor Karel Sakkalahul, chair of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Women and Children as well as the Committee on Gender and Development.
