In line with the celebration of its 22nd Cityhood Anniversary, the City Government of Isabela held the HAPIsabela Agro-Industrial, Trade and Tourism Expo (HAITTE) 2023 featuring the city’s 45 barangays, its cooperatives, local farmers and fisherfolk, which will highlight the agricultural, trade and tourism potentials of the city, April 26 at Plaza Isabela.
Vice Mayor Jhul Kifli Salliman extended his greetings, and welcomed the partners and stakeholders, and said that the expo is a great opportunity to find out more about the city, province, and the region.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman, for her part, expressed her gratitude to those who took part in HAITTE 2023 and noted that the fair is a lead-up to the first Isabela City Agri Summit. She continued by pointing out that Isabela City’s population size vis-a-vis its land area presents significant opportunities and challenges, but she expressed hope that the Agro-Industrial Fair will enable the city to realize its potential in agriculture.
BFAR IX Regional Director Al-Zath Kunting shared his agency’s commitment to Isabela City in his message of support, particularly in fisheries and interventions that would help revive and further the production.
DTI IX Regional Director Engr. Al-Zamir Lipae represented by DTI Provincial Director Grace Aduca applauded the LGU’s efforts to promote and preserve the city’s culture and heritage.
Department of Tourism IX Regional Director Dara May Cataluña represented by Senior TOO Precious Jane Rebollos-Alumbro expressed her felicitations to the local government and as the celebration is aligned with their – Colors of Mindanao – reiterate their commitment and continuous support to promote and showcase Isabela City. Meanwhile, Department of Agriculture IX Agricultural Program Coordinator Officer Arnulfo Estrada urged farmers to register on the Registry System for the Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), which also acts as a targeting tool for the government’s various programs and services relating to agriculture.
HAITTE 2023 was then formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and booth tour officiated by Mayor Turabin-Hataman and Vice Mayor Salliman. (Words by SJ Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
