In her message at the start of the Ramadhan, Mayor Turabin-Hataman urged the Muslim faithful in Isabela City to use the occasion to reflect on the values of charity, generosity, and solidarity to live a life of peace and harmony. Invoking an inclusive governance, the Turabin-Hataman administration has annually hosted Iftars for various sectors with the aim of forging stronger communal ties and understanding among Isabeleños of various denominations.
Iftar is the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadhan fast at sunset. The day’s fasting ends at the time of the call to prayer for the evening prayer. This is the second meal of the day; the daily fast during Ramadhan begins immediately after the pre-dawn meal of suhur and continues during the daylight hours, ending with sunset with the evening meal of Iftar.
