In anticipation of the inaugural Isabela City Agriculture Summit, representatives from Mindanao Development Authority (MINDA) are presently in Isabela City to dialog with agri-entrepreneurs and visit model farming communities.

Led by MINDA Investment Promotion Division chief Helen de Castro, the team, which also includes DMO Sylvestre Sales and DMO Jean Paul Tolentino, toured, April 12, Dos Bros Integrated Farm in Tabiawan and was hosted by owner Rod Janry Lleda. They also made stops at the Agricultural Training Center of the City Agriculture Office (CAGO) at Sitio Lantung, Baluno, and finally inspected the vegetable production project of LARBENCO with cooperative president Roel Molejon.

City Administrator and concurrent City Legal Officer Atty. Adzlan Imran and Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions chief Jaime Juanito Rivera together with agricultural technologists from CAGO accompanied the delegation during their tour.

As designed by City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, the first ever Isabela City Agriculture Summit this May is envisioned to gather relevant stakeholders to lay out the blueprint of revitalizing and re-energizing the critical role of agriculture as a pillar of local economic growth for the city.
