Isabela City is one of 20 LGUs (8 provinces and 12 cities) in the country shortlisted and qualified as Pilot Government Unit under the Local Government Reform Project Component 3 of the Department of Finance – Bureau of Local Government Finance, funded by Asian Development Bank.
The project has four components:
assistance in the form of updating of Schedule of Market Values
conduct of Tax Impact Study
coaching and mentoring on the updating of Real Property Tax Assessment Records
adoption of integrated electronic payment and collection system.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman attended the MOA signing with Department of Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, March 02 at the DoF Office, Manila. Joining her were City Assessor Vido Yu and OIC City Treasurer Mary Jane Abenojar.
“This is indeed an honor for us, to be identified as champion of local government financial reform, and we are looking forward to the transfer of technology and skills that will contribute to our efficiency in local revenue collection,” Mayor Turabin-Hataman said.
It can be recalled that Isabela City was cited by the Department of Interior and Local Government for Good Financial Housekeeping for 2022 –a recognition it also earned in 2021.
