The HAPIsabela LGBTQIA+ Council led by President Kidzmar Adam together with YSaVacc Project head Tony Tumalon met with City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman to discussed the YsaVacc Project, February 07 at Isabela City Hall.
The Council was chosen as one of the Top 10 partner grantees for the Kabayanihan Youth Challenge, which will be implemented among the areas of Malamawi Island for 4 months and will be implemented in 6 barangays of Malamawi Island, namely Marang-Marang, Diki, Carbon, Tampalan, Panigayan, and Lukbuton. This was in lieu of the call for proposals designed to empower and facilitate timely, creative and innovative youth actions that focus on local and community-driven solutions.
Project YsaVacc aims to conduct a month-long house-to-house advocacy campaign to stop the spread of false information and disinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine among locals. It also aims to equip IP youth volunteers with the knowledge and skills they need to carry out this campaign. (Words by S.J. Asakil/Photos by M. Santos, CIO)
