The City Government of Isabela represented by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman and PSA BARMM represented by PSA RSSO BARMM OIC-Regional Director Engr. Akan Tula, and Mahmur Sarail, PSA Basilan Chief Statistical Specialist, signed a Memorandum of Agreement on the Philippine Identification System (PhilSYS), Philippine Civil Registration Information System (PhilCRIS), and Philippine Birth Registration Assistance Project (PBRAP) on January 23 at SP Session Hall.
The PhilSYS MOA covers collaboration between the PSA and the LGU in the registration process including the establishment of registration center/s within the jurisdiction of the LGU.
Under the PhilCRIS MOA, PSA has developed an updated software to deliver civil registry information management which enables encoding of relevant information from civil registry documents, storage of vital data, query, retrieval of encoded records, printing and issuance of certified copies of encoded civil registry documents, generation of transmittal files, data management as well as maintenance of the local registry database and with the use of PhilCRIS, the LGU will be able to print preview and print directly to the 2007 civil registry forms.
While the PBRAP MOA aims to enhance a more intensified campaign in improving civil registration aligned on the goals of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Decade (CRVS).
