Officers and members of the Isabela City Barangay Information Officers Network (BION) provided feeding and library services, January 19, at the Sumagdang Evacuation Center. The said venue currently holds families of Barangay Aguada who were affected by the flooding caused by the recent LPA-induced incessant rains. Making the charity event possible were Barangay Eastside BIO/Kagawad Albert Gulang who sponsored arroz caldo for the evacuees while Isabela City BION president Adzhar Tahsin donated clothes.
Supervising the activity were personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office and BaSC BS Social Work interns led by SWO Jean Mariano. Meanwhile, City Population Management and Development Officer Jesielyn Puno discussed responsible parenthood and the 10 Kumain-ments to remind everyone in attendance about the importance of eating nutritious food.
The Learning Information for Barangay Readers Outreach (LIBRO) Mobile Library of the City Information Office also joined the occasion, distributing reading and coloring materials to the children of the center. (Words by M. Guerrero/Photos by KJ Evardo, CIO)
