Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman graced the culminating activity for the 90-day Supplemental Feeding for Nutritionally-At-Risk Pregnant Women of Barangay Diki, Sta Barbara, and Carbon held by the City Population Office led by City Population and Nutrition Action Officer Jesielyn Puno on November 15 at Sta. Barbara. Barbara Multipurpose Hall.
Mayor Dadah stated in her message that one of her priorities is nutrition, which includes being able to eat the right foods not only to fill one’s stomach but also to keep mothers and the babies they are carrying healthy.
During the event, 38 pregnant women and women who had recently given birth received 5 kilograms of rice as well as a pack of milk, and certificates were distributed to health workers.
The Seventh-day Adventist Community Health Services, led by Dr. Gemma Acosta, also provided free health services including free BP and blood sugar checks, health education, and free healthy snacks.
In attendance were Chair, Committee on Nutrition Councilor Alan Ritchie Biel, Barangay Chairs of Diki, Sta Barbara, and Carbon, BHW and, BNSs.
