VSLM is a youth-led movement that aims to engage and capacitate the youth to be vaccine champions and it is organized by Unilab Foundation in partnership with Ideas Positive Alumni Community, Department of Health, and Positive Youth Development Network.
The Ideas Positive Alumni Community Mindanao Chapter in partnership and coordination with Isabela City Local Youth Development Office headed by LYDO Levinia Jarejolne conducted the Youth for #VaccinesSaveLives Movement (VSLM) house-to-house campaign, October 12, at Barangay Kapatagan Grande.
Through the full support of the City Government of Isabela under the leadership of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, City Information Officer Mendry-Ann Lim, Special Action Force led by LT Dexter Jan Duquez, and Isabela City Police Station represented by PLT Jake Vincent Viduya, the 30 VSLM volunteers have reached 133 households to re-educate them with the importance of COVID-19 vaccine and encourage them to take booster shots.
Moreover, Barangay Kapatagan Grande is identified as one of the barangays in the city with the least number of vaccinated individuals. Thus, using the Vaccination Hesitancy Tool provided by the Isabela City Demand Generation Team, VSLM volunteers listed various barriers or reasons for refusing to get vaccinated.
VSLM will conduct its house-to-house campaign to other communities in Isabela City soon. (Words by Levinia Jarejolne, LYDO/Photos Courtesy of LYDO)
