The Isabela City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ICADAC) assisted the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council of Lanote, October 10, for its Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program. Also assisting in the endeavor were the Isabela City Health Office (CHO), Philippine National Police – Isabela City Police Station (PNP-ICPS), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Isabela City Office (PDEA-ICO), the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Isabela City Field Office and the City Social Welfare and Development.
The activity was participated by the 26 Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUDs) of Barangay Lanote who sought for assistance to reform from the dependence of the use of illegal drugs. The Community Based Drug Rehabilitation Program aims to help the PWUDs who are willing to change.
The activity included lectures on the legal consequences of using dangerous drugs, ill effects of dangerous drugs to the human body, and Know Your Mind: a Mental Health Seminar.
Aside from discussion, the PWUDs also underwent assessment using the ASSIST Tool by trained health officers and profiling of information by police officers. (Words by Rix La Guardia, ADAC/Photos by K. Galos, CIO)
