Australia’s Ambassador for Counter-Terrorism, AO DSC CSC Roger Noble together with the Australian Embassy delegation organized a two-part discussion along with the Provincial Government of Basilan headed by Gov. Hajiman Salliman, September 27 at Kasinnahan Hotel and Resort.
The discussion aimed to learn more about the efforts of the provincial government and local government units’ efforts to prevent and counter violent extremism (P/CVE) as Australia has supported the province through the Advancing and Sustaining Good Governance towards Community Resiliency and Empowerment (AS2G-CARE) Program while Isabela City along with other municipalities has taken part in Project (CIRCLE) Communities of Inclusion and Resilience through Collaborative Local Engagements.
The first part of the discussion is for Project CIRCLE and AS2G-CARE implementing partners including Isabela City’s Project CIRCLE Focal Person Ms Gemma Paculio. Following that, a lunchtime discussion with Gov. Salliman, Sumisip Mayor Jul-Adnan Hataman, and Tipo-Tipo Mayor Arcam Istarul and Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman was held to learn from the experiences of local chief executives working on the P/CVE.
Joining the discussion were Defence Attaché Colonel Paul Barta, Cousellor James Yeomans, Counsellor Ashley Carr, First Secretary Simon Hayter, First Secretary Guy Inder, second Secretary Jennifer Bennett, Asst. Director Renne McGregor, and Program Officer Aeriel Quijano.
