The Peace & Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan TWG hosts a three-day workshop at SP Session Hall from September 26-28, participated by several LGU offices and stakeholders from various sectors, to draft the POPS Plan for Fiscal Years 2023-2025.
On the first day, the chair of the POPS Plan Engr. Gay Palagtiosa presented an overview and rationale for the Peace, Order, and Public Safety Plan. The local strategic direction, including vision and mission statements, goals, and descriptors, was also reviewed.
CADAC Focal Rix La Guardia presented the Peace and Order and Public Safety situation’s status of accomplishment for 2020 and 2021 on crime and disorder, anti-illegal drugs, conflict and public safety. He also presented the POC accomplishments where the Council obtained a score of 81.67% in 2019 and 98.88% in 2021 for high functional POC and a 90% high functional CADAC for 2021 during the Performance Audit Result.
PDO Mark Ronald Berondo also discussed the orientation of the Situation Matrix form (Form 1), while Engr. Ivy Piscali talked about the orientation on Issues Matrix form (Form 2). It was followed by a workshop, output presentation, and open forum as participants exchanged ideas in the drafting of POPS Plan which is being readied for implementation in the next three years.
The drafting of POPS Plan, which is to be adopted for the next three years, was joined by ABC Federation President Tammy Ismael, City Assessor Vido Yu, Acting CSWDO Nor-Aina Asmara, Acting City Engineer Gian Carlo Luna, CSO Basilan Ulama Supreme Council Dr. Aboulkhair Tarason, Sr. Susan Bolanio OND, CSO EUCI/SHALOM Fire and Rescue Rev. Ronald A. Paulino, Department of Interior and Local Governemnt-Field Office, ICPS-PNP, 4SF Bn PA, Bureau of Fire Protection-ICFS, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, 54th SAC PNP-SAF, PDEA, PNP Maritime Police, Philippine Coast Guard, EOD & Canine Unit-PNP, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources-ENRFO.
