The Isabela City Government, led by Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, in partnership with BCH Cable TV Network, Inc. officially launched IsaTV, Your Only Island TV Channel, on July 15 at the City Hall Lobby.
Mayor Turabin-Hataman, who was joined by department heads, partner agencies and institutions, thanked everyone who attended the launch and invited other offices and institutions to join the effort.
“When you have an informed citizenry, half of your work as public servants is done. If you have an informed citizenry, sila ho ang maaasahan natin, kaakibat at partner natin sa lahat ng gusto nating gawin. On the other hand, ‘pag ang citizenry mo ay vulnerable sa maling information, ang laking talo,” she said in her message.
She also reiterated the motivation for founding IsaTV and mentioned that people are more receptive to information packaged in an entertaining manner.
Meanwhile, teasers of IsaTV programs were shown to give the audience a glimpse of the content, format, personalities and other topics the viewers can look forward.
In attendance were Basilan Lone District Representative Mujiv Hataman, BCH Management represented by Blue Infante Ututalum, Basilan District 1 Board Member Amin Hataman, city department heads and staff, SSS-Isabela City Administrator Xavier Louie Basaen, Qorban Institute administrator Maria Teresa Dante and Gaililian Geramgaya, PCCI Secretary Melanie Ong, JS Alano Memorial Hospital administrator Laura Alano, JSAMSI Principal Larry Ramos, DOLE-ICFO personnel, instructors from Universal College, Jack and Jill Integrated School, and Grace Learning Center, Begang NHS, CCI Faculty, BNHS Asst. Principal for Operations Joel Saavedra, media practitioner Julie Alipala, ICEPS Principal Josiah Tuballa and other personnel.
