Basilan Lone District Representative and Deputy Speaker Mujiv Hataman, along with other local officials and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), led the groundbreaking of farm-to-market roads at Tabiawan and Baluno barangays and the turnover of the newly concreted roads at the same barangays.
These series of activities are under the Basic Infrastructure initiative of the Office of Representative Hataman to support and boost agriculture productivity of countryside barangays and is one of the priority development projects to help in facilitating the immediate transport of agricultural crops from the farms to the nearest market. These were funded through the same office in close cooperation with the City Government of Isabela under the administration of Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman.
Deputy Speaker Hataman also spearheaded the turnover ceremony, January 31, of two newly constructed farm-to-market road projects at Cabunbata Barangay’s Sitio Pangaraan and the connecting barangays of Lumbang and Kumalarang and the segment to improve the National Highway (Basilan Circumferential Road) traversing Maligue and Lumbang. Signalling the start of the road project, he also led the ground-breaking of the Lanote-Calvario farm to market road on February 01, even if it was a special non-working holiday.
Joining the deputy speaker were DPWH District Engineer Salim Alimin, City Administrator Joel Zanoria, LEDIPO Jamju A. Rivera, Baluno Punong Barangay Tani Rabina, Tabiawan Punong Barangay Oscar Bernardo and other stakeholders.
