The Department of Interior and Local Government in coordination with the Local Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) of Isabela City with their aim of capacitating Barangay ADACs conducted the “Strengthening Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (SICAP-BADAC)” from December 14-15 at the Multi-Purpose Function Hall, City Infirmary.
The first batch of participants came from 23 barangays, each with a contingent composed of the: Punong Barangay, BADAC Duty Officer, BADAC Committee Chairman on Operation, BADAC Committee Chairman on Advocacy, and BADAC CSO/NGO Representative.
The SICAP-BADAC training aims at enhancing the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the BADAC members in order for them to effectively perform their duties. The BADACs were oriented on the following areas: a.) Barangay Drug Clearing Program, b.) Drug Prevention Program, c.) Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program, and, d) After Care and Integration Program.
The training was led by the City Local Training Team composed of the ADAC City Focal Person, DILG, PNP, PDEA, CHR, DOH/CHO, NYC, DSWD/CSWD, and CSO/NGO.
Meanwhile, the second batch of participants from the remaining 22 barangays will have their course on December 16-17.
