The City Government of Isabela de Basilan under the aegis of Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman and the creative minds and hands behind the highly successful HapIsabela Teledukasyon Program (HTP) joined for a simple thanksgiving reception, October 05, Thursday.
In the occasion, Elsa Usman, Learning Resource Supervisor and HTP Manager narrated some of the challenges that the project encountered and credited the open and strong partnership between the City Government and Schools Division Office of Isabela City in making it realize its goals.
This was seconded in the message of Dr. Julieto Fernandez, City Schools Division Superintendent of Isabela, who spoke in gratitude for all the material support the City extended to the Division as its teaching workforce initiated a multi-modal learning continuity plan in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
As the progenitor of HTP, Mayor Turabin-Hataman was overcame with emotion as she extolled all those who in one part or another contributed in making a locally-made television-based set of instructional materials a reality for all Isabeleño learners. An educator herself, the lady mayor declared that the HapIsabela Teledukasyon Program was and will always be one of the proudest achievements of her first term as local chief executive.
The said gathering also recognized HTP’s benefactors, foremost of whom are Diana Jean Puno, CEO of BCH Cable TV Network, Inc. and former City Schools Division superintendent Dr. Hilda Babon. Also in attendance were Councilor Karel Sakkalahul, City Information Officer Mendry-Ann Lim, City Public Employment Services Officer Aradelria Belleng, City Legal Officer Atty. Adzlan Imran, City Tourism Officer Claudio Ramos II, Schools Division officials, education program supervisors, principals and other guests.
The Kamustahan coincided with the celebration of World Teachers’ Day.
