Chaired by Mayor Dadah Turabin-Hataman along with its members convened on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 to discuss agenda relative to the sudden spike of COVID-19 cases brought by the more infectious COVID-19 Delta Variant.
Presiding the meeting was Committee Chair on Health, Councilor Alan Ritchie Biel together with City Disaster Risks Reduction and Management Office Chief Uso Dan I. Salasim.
During the meeting, four (4) motions were raised, to include:
1. Motion to consider requiring negative rtpcr or antigen test result to incoming non-residents who are on business or official travel to Isabela City.
2. Motion to impose stricter penalty to protocol transgressors.
3. Motion to require or encourage public and private establishments to use staysafe app.
4. Motion to encourage government officeS to review and improve their respective anti covid19 protocols.
The Taskforce concluded the meeting approving the above-mentioned motions while CDRRM Salasim asked the security sector to fortify not just the land boundaries but also the coastal areas to prevent backdoor entry and also encourage both government and private sectors to use the StaySafe app for faster contract tracing.
Council Biel meanwhile also pledged to pass a resolution /ordinance activating/reactivating the Bantay Dagat to help secure the coasts.
Othe agenda include presentation of City’s COVID-19 situationer report presented by City Health Officer Dr. Mohrien Ismael confirming 6 new additional local COVID-19 cases in Isabela as of September 6, 2021.
