In line with the ongoing Community Based Training and Livelihood Programs being initiated by the Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod under the leadership of Vice Mayor Kifli Hataman-Salliman through his Kamustahan with Kuya Kif Programs in the different barangays in Isabela City, a simple graduation ceremony was conducted last Thursday, September 2, 2021. For these batch of participants, who are mainly from Barangay Baluno, Panunsulan and Sta.Barabara, the program focused on different skills, to include Skills Training in Food Processing; Skills Training in Bread and Pastry Production; Skills Training in Dressmaking and Skills Training in Arts and Crafts.
In partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority led by Ms. Gloria O. Halirin, Supervising TESD Specialist, trainers from the said office were deployed in different barangays to facilitate the conduct of the training. 75 participants completed the training in Food Processing by Curing, Salting and Smoking, 30 participants in Bread and Pastry Production with Ms. Jeemay Singson as the trainer; 30 participants for Arts and Crafts under the class of Dr. Fernando Borre and 25 participants for Dressmaking with Ms. Ludivina Sawadjaan.
During his message, VM Kifli reiterated that the Local Government Unit of Isabela is exhausting its efforts and resources to stick to the objective of bringing government services to the people. He expressed his excitement as to how these participants will convert these trainings into a long-term solution most especially in the financial and economic aspect. He emphasized that the City Council will continue to work for the people of Isabela and is committed to help Isabeleños attain success because he believes that the success of Isabeleños is also the success of its government.
Other partners also assisted in bringing these skills training program to the community. Among the partners are, Office of the Provincial Governor spearheaded by Gov. Jim Salliman, DOLE, JCI Basilena, JRS and other individuals who have generously shared materials for the training. The City Council were in support to the program and has also donated Starter Kits for the paticipants while VM Kifli gave cash assistance to the group as capital.
