To emphasize the importance of sanitation in preparing street food, the Local Government Unit of Isabela de Basilan led by Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman through the Isabela City Tourism Office in partnership with the Department of Tourism – Zamboanga Peninsula commenced the Streetfood Tourism Kulinarya Workshop today at the 3rd Floor Infirmary Building, Sunrise, Isabela City. The workshop gathers streetfood vendor of James Walter Strong Boulevard.

The Workshop Facilitator is Chef Richie Pobletin, an accredited DOT and TESDA facilitator focusing on streetfood tourism. The streetfood vendors will also have an actual demonstration of their food preparation and present this to the City Tourism Office and the Department of Tourism for evaluation.

The Local Government Unit of Isabela de Basilan and the Isabela City Tourism Office would like to extend our thanks to DOT Undersecretary Myra Paz Valderrosa – Abubakar, OIC Regional Director Wayne Galeza and the whole team of the DOT – Zamboanga Peninsula for always being supportive to tge Tourism Preparations and Activities in Isabela de Basilan.

This training is part of the World Tourism Month 2021 Celebration this September.
