The City Government of Isabela through the City Population Office conducted an “Orientation on the FATWA on Family Planning and Model Family” facilitated by Ms. Jesielyn O. Puno, City Population Officer.
The orientation was held today August 26, 2021 at 4th Floor Infirmary Building, City Hall Complex, this City.
Attendees were 48 paticipants from different sectors to include Muslim Religious Leaders, Sanghuniang Kabataan, Out of School Youth and Barangay Nutrition Scholars from different Barangays in Isabela City.
During the orientation, Ust. Al Rashid Sali, MEP/Alive Teacher DepEd Isabela City addressed and discussed the role of MRLs in community and Fatwa on Reproductive Health/Family Planning and oriented the Fatwa on Model Family in Islam and the Role of Women. He stressed the misconceptions on family planning in Islam and other matters relative to family planning, to include topics on haram, those practices which are allowed and recommended.
In addition, the Assembly of Darul-Iftah of the Philippines also adressed confronting issues whether or not reproductive health and family planning as implemented in the Philippines are in accordance with teachings o Islam.
In his discussion he said that acccording to sheikh Shaltout, the former Imam of Al-Azhar: Family planning in this sense is not incompatible with nature, and is not disagreeable to national conscience, and is not forbidden by Shariah, if not prescribed by it and sought after.
Also present in this activity were Hon. Alan Richie Luis B. Biel, City Councilor and Dr. Mohrein Ismael VI, City Health Officer.
