2nd Day: Cultural Mapping Project (CMAP) of Isabela de Basilan
The Cultural Mappers were asked to visit four key barangays to identify the rich natural heritage of Isabela de Basilan highlighting significant flora and fauna species. The mappers went to Barangays Maligue, Kabunbata, Aguada and Carbon in Malamawi Island. A session in the afternoon gave the mappers the opportunity to present their outputs and it was the chance for the facilitators to provide comments and suggestions to better the forms needed for the CMAP.
A lecture on Tangible – Immovable Heritage was given to the group right after, in preparation for tomorrow’s fieldwork on key structures, landmarks and sites. One of the highlights of this afternoon’s session, was the session on how to properly measure the length, the height and width of immovable structures such as statues, monuments and the like using a tape measure.
