Due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in the previous months, other batches of couples for the Ceremonial Mass Wedding as part of this year’s 20th Cityhood Anniversary and 2nd Sakayan Festival were temporarily postponed for the health and safety of everyone. But as the risks brought about by the disease has been trimmed down for the past few weeks, dropping City’s active cases to only 14 as of today from the overwhelming 100 mark in the recent months, the City Government of Isabela de Basilan happily resumed its Ceremonial Mass Wedding today, July 5, 2021 at the Sakayan Hall, City Hall Complex, this City.
A total of 14 couples (7 in the morning and 7 in the afternoon) tied their knots during the first batch of the mass wedding ceremony officiated by Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman together with Vice Mayor Kifli Salliman, City Civil Registrar Dayang Mirhama A. Jaljalis and couples’ principal witnesses.
Another batches of grooms and brides for Ceremonial Mass Wedding shall be held on July 6 and July 9 at the same venue.
Newly wedded couples received a free wedding cake and a cash gift of Php 4,000.00 from the City Government.
Public Minimum Health Standards were strictly been observed in whole duration of the ceremony.
