The City Zoning Containment Strategy aims to address surges in local COVID19 infection by targeting specific locations with surgical precision, be it entire neighborhoods, barangays, puroks, streets or even individual buildings or single detached houses, locking these down and providing the affected populace with enough resources to finish a complete 14-day mandatory quarantine period.
Isabela City COVID19 Task Force Chair, Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman directed all agencies in the city towards the quick containment of the recent surge which started on or around April 14 and which, within a span of only 10 days, already resulted in more than 69 new cases, twice the number recorded in the worst month of 2020 – August with 32 new cases.

Mayor Turabin-Hataman likewise requested that the city revert to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status, and this request was approved both by the City and Provincial Task Forces in subsequent meetings held April 29 and May 3, respectively. Both City and Provincial Task Force resolutions wilk then be forwarded to the Regional IATF for its concurrence. The GCQ will last for one month from the first day of its implementation.
