According to City Social Welfare and Development Officer Emma Gurrea, four Senior Citizens per barangay, chosen by their respective association bringing in 180 senior citizens in all 45 barangays will receive 10,000 pesos’ livelihood cash assistance that will augment and help them start with their individual small businesses.

Checks were turned-over, Friday, December 18, 2020 during the ceremonial turn-over of the cash assistance spearheaded by Mayor Hataman in the Sakayan Conference Hall, City Hall Complex, this city.

In her short message, she underscored the value of start-up capital stressing that the assistance given are primarily for the senior citizens and shall be used to further alleviate their current status. The fund source is from the one percent special appropriation of the LGU for senior citizens and PWDs in the amount of 1.8 million pesos and 650,000 pesos respectively.
