December 3, 2020 – The City Government of Isabela de Basilan thru the City Civil Registrar’s Office held the first batch of the free mass wedding on Thursday morning at the Infirmary Building, City Hall complex, this city.

Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman officiated the mass wedding ceremony. She delivered a short message to the newlyweds emphasizing the importance of marriage for both Muslims and Christians. She also furthered it is vital to always keep the respect and friendship between husband and wife.

Each newlywed received a wedding cake, 2K cash from the LGU Isabela City and another 2K as a personal gift from Mayor Hataman.

The second batch of the Mass wedding will be held tomorrow, December 4 at the same venue.
