August 23, 2020 | ISABELA CITY, Basilan – 300 families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) imposed on Purok 3 and 2 of Barangay Diki immediately received an initial wave of food assistance (300 sacks of 10 kilos rice; 5,000 cans of sardines) Sunday, on the first day of the imposition of ECQ.
Barangay Diki, which now has a total of 22 confirmed active cases (when 14 new cases were announced by DOH RESU9 on August 22, 2020), has been placed under Localized ECQ as per Executive Order No. 28, s. 2020 issued by Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman, for the purpose of stopping the further spread of COVID-19. The ECQ shall be in place from August 23 to September 7, a total of 15 days wherein all residents shall not be allowed to leave their respective homes.
Nine contact tracing teams under the City Health Office will comb thru these locked down areas to seek out individuals who may have had close contacts with the COVID-19 patients, to trace, test, isolate and treat them and help them back to full recovery.
To date, 58% of all confirmed cases in Isabela City has fully recovered. 41% has remained as active cases, while the mortality rate is at 1%.
