The City Peace and Order Council chaired by Isabela City Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman together with Vice Mayor Jhul Kifli Salliman Hataman held the 2nd Quarter Emergency Meeting, June 1, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, this city. This is also in response to the recent twin bombing incidents in Isabela City on May 30, Monday.
Mayor Hataman appealed to the people of Isabela City to be vigilant and to be responsible in sharing information, particularly, to always verify first details before posting anything on social media to prevent anxiety especially if it pertains to security.
Isabela City Police Station Chief Zunpikar Sitin presented the initial results of their investigation of the blast in the parking lot of a fast food chain and in a bus garage where two victims sustained minor injury.
CCTV footages surrounding the establishment as well as the CDRRMO OpCen CCTVs aided the authorities in their investigations. Thus, when the passing of CCTV Ordinance was raised, Vice Mayor Jhul Kifli Salliman responded that they were already conducting research in identifying which type or size of business establishments will be required in setting up CCTVs in the city as one of the requirements when filing for their business permit/s.
In summary, Mayor Hataman reiterated the agreements of the meeting which include the continuous investigation of the explosion, heightened checkpoints on the entry and exit point/s in Isabela City, increased police visibility and the identification of the suspects.
Further, the public is advised to observe collective vigilance to keep Isabela City safe and peaceful.
