LGU-ISABELA DE BASILAN through the Isabela City Tourism Office in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) conducted it’s First Ever CULTURAL MAPPING Workshop to the newly organized HAPIsabela Cultural Mappers held today August 23-27, 2021 at Querexeta Formation Center/3rd Floor Infirmary Building, Isabela City, this City.
During the program, 16 members of newly organized Cultural Mappers and Speakers from NCCA’s Cultural Mapping Facilitators to include Mr. Glenn Francis Lanticse and Mr. Nino Gomez Coquilla were introduced.
City Councilor Committee on Tourism and Beautification Hon. Karel Annjaiza R. Sakkalahul stressed the importance of cultural mapping and noted that impact of cultural preservation and heritage.
“Bilang taga Isabela nais po natin alisin ang discrimination, ipakita kung ano ang meron tayo, at malaman ang pinanggalingan natin. Ibat-iba man ang ating relihiyon ngunit pinagkakaisa tayo ng ating kultura” she said.
Moreover, NCCA’s Cultural Mapping Facilitators Mr. Glenn Francis Lanticse emphasized the science of cultural mapping and explained that “the team shall maintain an inventory of cultural properties so that we know what Cultural properties are present in our community, most importantly the outcome of the cultural profile will help the LGU the people of Isabela City to promote, protect preserve and identity their identity as United People of Isabela de Basilan. “
